Van Dijk calls for a leadership revolution at Liverpool

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has urged his teammates to take on more responsibility within the team, given the likely departures of Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson during the upcoming summer transfer window. The Dutch defender emphasized in a press conference that players must develop their leadership qualities, whether they already possess them or need to acquire them, noting that the next season will be a true test of everyone's readiness. Van Dijk added that he has a clear vision regarding the team's second captain, and perhaps even the future captain, but preferred not to reveal his name at this time, explaining that he always shares his opinions within the group. He also indicated that the period following the World Cup and the pre-season training camp under coach Arne Slot will significantly shape the leadership within the team and how to avoid repeating the negative results experienced this season. He concluded by stressing the importance of finishing the season on a high note, pointing out that the recent victory against Everton represents a positive start before focusing on the remaining matches and then preparing for the upcoming challenges and the pre-season period.
