Sterling breaks into top Goalscorers of all-time Englishmen in EUEFA competition’s history.

Raheem Sterling has entered the top 10 on the list of Manchester City’s all-time highest goalscorers. The winger’s stunning 20-yard curling effort against Sporting in the first leg of our Champions League last 16 tie was his 127th since joining the Club in July 2015, moving him above Alec Herd into outright 10th position in the rankings.
The victory was our record away win in the Champions League era with Sterling capping a fine night’s work in the Portuguese capital by curling home a magnificent 58th minute strike that saw him become the Club’s 10th highest leading scorer.
Indeed, his 24 goals in the Champions League mean he is now joint-second with Paul Scholes on the list of highest scoring Englishmen in the competition's history. Former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney leads the English Premier League's top scorer with 30 goals. The return match will be held on March 9 at the Santiago Bernabéu, the stronghold of Real Madrid.
