The Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) Competitions Department is preparing to hold a meeting on Wednesday with the Gulf federations to discuss the final dates for the Round of 16 of the AFC Champions League, as well as the quarter-final matches of the AFC Champions League 2, which are expected to take place before the knockout stages of the AFC Champions League begin on April 16. It has not yet been decided whether the quarter-final matches will be played over two legs or as single-leg ties, and this decision will be made during the virtual meeting. According to the preliminary schedule, Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia will face Al-Sadd of Qatar, and Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia will play Al-Duhail of Qatar, while Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia will face Al-Wahda of the UAE, Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia will play Al-Wasl of the UAE, and Al-Ahli of Qatar will play Al-Hussein Irbid of Jordan in the AFC Champions League 2 quarter-finals.
