Liverpool are on City's path in the FA Cup

The FA Cup quarter-final draw has produced some exciting matchups, headlined by the highly anticipated clash between Manchester City and their rivals Liverpool in one of the tournament's most anticipated fixtures this season. This encounter reignites the fierce rivalry between the two sides, after Pep Guardiola's team triumphed over Liverpool twice this season: first with a resounding 3-0 victory in Manchester in November, and then with a 2-1 win at Anfield in February. This will be the first FA Cup meeting between the two teams since the 2022 semi-final, when Liverpool secured a 3-2 victory en route to lifting the trophy. Liverpool boast eight FA Cup titles, the most recent coming four years ago, while Manchester City have lifted the trophy seven times, most recently in 2023. Meanwhile, Arsenal travel to Southampton for a match where Mikel Arteta's side will be looking to continue their pursuit of a historic quadruple this season. Chelsea will host Port Vale, a League One (third division) side, at Stamford Bridge. Port Vale reached this stage after a stunning upset, eliminating Sunderland in the fifth round. The quarter-final matches are scheduled for the weekend of April 4th and 5th, a stage expected to be highly competitive as clubs vie for the title.
