Sirens halt a match in the Jordanian league!
The match between Al-Faisaly and Al-Ahli at Amman International Stadium on Sunday evening, part of the 18th round of the Jordanian Pro League, was halted after alarms sounded due to the current situation in the region. Referee Mohammad Samara stopped play in the 20th minute, with Al-Faisaly leading 1-0 thanks to a goal by Amin Al-Shana'ina, who converted a pass from Khaled Zakaria. The Jordanian Football Association had announced before the match that all games in the round would be played behind closed doors, granting referees the authority to stop matches immediately upon hearing alarms to ensure player safety. Following the stoppage, players from both teams went to the tunnel to maintain their fitness while awaiting permission to resume play. Despite the exceptional circumstances, the Federation opted against postponing the round in an effort to finish the season on schedule, allowing the Jordanian national team to prepare early for upcoming competitions, most notably the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and finals. The possibility of further stoppages continues to affect the match schedule and timing until further notice.
