Martinez describes Ronaldo as the best in history

Portugal coach Roberto Martinez has hailed Cristiano Ronaldo as "the best player in the history of football," praising his ambitious mentality and constant desire to improve. Speaking on the "Portugal Football Summit" podcast, Martinez said he had never met a player with such a winning spirit, emphasizing that continuing to rely on Ronaldo in the national team is the best way to support young players and enable them to learn. He added, "Whether Ronaldo wins the World Cup or not, he is the best in history, and it is our responsibility to provide him with the best opportunities to compete for titles through continuous analysis and improvement." Martinez also highlighted the importance of Portugal's UEFA Nations League title, noting that winning the tournament gave the team significant confidence and maturity for the next stage, especially after crucial victories against Germany and Spain, which contributed to the longest winning streak in the history of the Portuguese national team (11 consecutive wins), thanks in large part to Ronaldo's goals.
