Laporta: I rejected Paris's fantastic offer to sign Yamal

Barcelona president Joan Laporta revealed details of a massive offer the club received for their young star Lamine Yamal, confirming that the board quickly made its decision and refused to part with one of the most promising talents of the future. According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, via his X platform account, Paris Saint-Germain made a staggering €250 million offer for Yamal two years ago. Commenting on the decision, Laporta said, “We rejected the offer despite its enormity. He was only 17 years old, and some thought we were crazy, but we believed in his talent.” The Parisian offer at the time was part of a plan to compensate for the departure of French star Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid. The PSG management, headed by Nasser Al-Khelaifi, saw Yamal as a potential leader for a new era. Despite the enormous financial incentives, Barcelona's management held onto their rising star, sending a clear message that building the future is more important than any astronomical sum.
