Guardiola makes history again with City
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has set a new record in English football history, becoming the fastest manager to reach 400 official Premier League wins with a club. This milestone was achieved after City's 2-0 victory over Galatasaray in the Champions League. Goals from Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki, both scored within the first 30 minutes, secured City's place in the Round of 16. This win marks Guardiola's 400th victory with Manchester City across all competitions since taking charge in the summer of 2016, making him the most successful manager in the club's history. With this achievement, Guardiola surpasses Les McDowell's previous record of 220 wins with City between 1950 and 1963 by 180 victories . This victory marked Guardiola's 64th win with Manchester City in the Champions League, a tally surpassed only by Alex Ferguson with Manchester United (102 wins) and Arsène Wenger with Arsenal (83 wins) as managers of the same club. His overall Champions League win count as a manager stands at 117, just six shy of the record held by Carlo Ancelotti (124). The Spanish coach achieved this historic milestone in 569 official matches in England, surpassing Arsène Wenger's previous record of 400 wins with Arsenal, which he reached in 696 matches – 127 games faster than the Frenchman . Galatasaray became the 87th team against whom Manchester City have defeated Guardiola, while his most recent victories in all competitions have come against West Ham and Burnley (18 each). Of the teams that Guardiola has failed to beat with City, only six are Lyon (3 matches), Celtic (2 matches), Al-Hilal, Bayer Leverkusen, Wigan Athletic, and Bodø/Glimt.
