Chelsea are planning to snatch Milan's goalkeeper

The Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that English club Chelsea intends to reopen the file on signing AC Milan goalkeeper, Frenchman Mike Maignan, after failing to sign him during the last summer transfer window. The London club is currently studying its available options, while Mainan remains the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper for the Rossoneri. However, the 30-year-old goalkeeper's contract, which expires in June 2026, raises questions about his long-term future, especially with Milan keen to avoid a repeat of the Gianluigi Donnarumma experience, who previously left the team for free at the end of his contract. According to reports, negotiations to extend Mainan's contract have been somewhat complicated, initially running low after Milan rejected the player's financial demands, which are said to be around €5 million annually. Despite this, the Italian club remains hopeful of reaching an agreement that would secure the goalkeeper's long-term future. If the dispute continues and no agreement is reached soon, Milan is working in parallel on alternative plans, including studying the names of other goalkeepers in anticipation of the possibility of Mainan leaving for a new destination.
