Harry Kane makes his decision regarding joining Barcelona

England star Harry Kane has decided to stay with Bayern Munich, opting not to leave the club in 2026 and not to activate the release clause in his contract this coming January . According to the German newspaper Bild, Kane's release clause is valued between €60 and €65 million, but it only becomes active in January. The player has refused to take advantage of this clause despite interest from several Premier League clubs, most notably his former club, Tottenham . This decision has dashed Barcelona's hopes of signing the English striker. The Catalan club had been monitoring Kane's situation in recent months, especially given the uncertainty surrounding Robert Lewandowski's future as his contract nears its end in 2026 and there has been no clear progress in renewal negotiations . Reports indicate that Barcelona has not taken any formal steps to sign Kane because the player is obligated to inform Bayern Munich's management of his decision in January. Furthermore, those close to Kane have prioritized the Bavarian club after evaluating several other potential destinations . Thus, the chance of Harry Kane moving to Barcelona at the end of the season fades away, while England's top scorer continues his career at Bayern Munich for at least another season, while Lewandowski's future with the team remains dependent on his performance in the coming period.
