A fierce Saudi battle to sign Mohamed Salah

Saudi Pro League clubs have reportedly begun making urgent moves to sign Egyptian star Mohamed Salah from Liverpool following the recent crisis between the player and his English club. The crisis erupted after Liverpool's 3-3 draw with Leeds United in the 15th round of the English Premier League, where Salah made fiery statements revealing his extreme anger at being benched for the third consecutive match. This reignited the debate surrounding his strained relationship with the team's manager, Arne Slott. Salah explicitly stated that his relationship with the manager was "broken" and that he felt "unwanted at the club," sparking widespread controversy and renewed questions about his future with the Reds. Following Salah's statements, press reports indicate that Saudi Pro League management has moved quickly to capitalize on the crisis and is seeking to sign him during the upcoming winter transfer window. English journalist Ben Jacobs confirmed that Saudi clubs are working to finalize the deal as early as 2026, and that the opportunity could turn into a major surprise with the Egyptian Pharaoh joining one of the Kingdom's clubs. Jacobs pointed out that Al-Hilal is at the top of the list of clubs interested in signing Salah, but Al-Ittihad is also strongly pursuing him, which could create a fierce competition to sign one of the most prominent stars in the world today.
