Liverpool are considering sacking Slot and are preparing his replacement

Liverpool's management is seriously considering appointing club legend Steven Gerrard as interim manager should they decide to dismiss Dutch coach Arne Slot in the coming period. According to reports, Liverpool has already opened direct communication with Gerrard to gauge his interest in taking over temporarily until the end of the season or until the management settles on a permanent manager. Gerrard apparently still holds a special place within the club, given his long history and significant influence as a player and captain on the pitch. Gerrard recently revealed that he was very close to returning to manage Scottish club Rangers, indicating that negotiations following Russell Martin's departure had reached an advanced stage. However, he ultimately chose not to accept the position for reasons he did not fully disclose, leaving his coaching future open to other options. Meanwhile, sources confirm that Liverpool's management has its sights set on German coach Julian Nagelsmann, the current manager of the German national team, who is preparing to lead his team in the World Cup this summer. The management believes that Nagelsmann may be a suitable option to lead the technical project in the long term, making his appointment likely after the end of his participation in the World Cup.
