Mbappe is second to Salah in a historic Champions League list

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé set the Champions League ablaze with a stunning hat-trick in just seven minutes during the first half of his team's match against Olympiacos on Wednesday night. Mbappé scored his three goals in quick succession in the 22nd, 24th, and 29th minutes, putting him within one point of equaling the all-time record for the fastest hat-trick in Champions League history, currently held by Mohamed Salah for Liverpool against Rangers in the 2012 season, which came in just 6 minutes and 12 seconds. Despite coming close to Salah's record, the French star only managed to secure second place on this all-time list, while continuing to lead Real Madrid to a 3-1 lead over Olympiacos at the end of the first half. The new hat-trick puts Mbappe at the top of the current Champions League scoring charts with 8 goals, ahead of Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen who has 6 goals, while Erling Haaland and Harry Kane share the next place with 5 goals, followed by Marcus Rashford, Lautaro Martinez, Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes with 4 goals each.
