Kante sparks controversy over his future with Al-Ittihad

French star N'Golo Kanté has revealed his stance on leaving Saudi club Al-Ittihad in the near future, following widespread rumors suggesting his desire to depart the Jeddah-based team. Over the past few days, several reports have circulated indicating that Kanté is considering a return to European football via the French league, sparking considerable debate about his future with Al-Ittihad. While with the French national team during the November international break, Kanté was asked about the possibility of leaving Al-Ittihad and returning to France. Kanté responded: "A possible departure? Nobody knows." Initially, Kanté emphasized his complete focus on Al-Ittihad this season, stating, "I'm focused on the current season with Al-Ittihad, and we'll see what happens later." When specifically asked about the interest shown by newly promoted Ligue 1 side Paris FC in signing him, Kanté smiled and said, "Nobody knows what will happen," which some interpreted as a hint that he wasn't ruling out any possibilities. Kanté's contract with Al-Ittihad expires in the summer of 2026. The French player joined the team in the summer of 2023 on a three-year deal from English club Chelsea. Kante (34 years old) played 92 matches with Al-Ittihad in various competitions, during which he managed to score 9 goals and make 10 assists for his teammates.
