Remarkable records in the Bundesliga season

The current 2025-2026 Bundesliga season, after 10 rounds, has already witnessed numerous records and memorable moments, with high-scoring matches and dramatic late clashes. Bayern Munich has topped the table for all 40 rounds so far, and with a six-point lead over second-placed RB Leipzig, they are on track to set a new record or equal the previous record of 43 consecutive rounds at the top, set in the 1971-72 season. The fourth round saw Eintracht Frankfurt defeat Borussia Mönchengladbach 6-4 in the highest-scoring match since Bayern's 9-2 victory over Hamburg in March 2013. With 289 goals scored so far, averaging 3.1 goals per game, the Bundesliga leads the list of Europe's top leagues in terms of goals, highlighting the excitement and competitiveness of this season. England captain Harry Kane continued his record-breaking spree by scoring a penalty against Werder Bremen in Matchday 5, bringing his total penalty goals this season to 18, surpassing the previous record held jointly by Hans-Jörg Butt and Robert Lewandowski. Bayern Munich have amassed 28 points out of a possible 30, a feat they have only achieved once before at this stage of the season under Pep Guardiola in 2015/16. Bayer Leverkusen suffered a 3-0 defeat to Bayern in Matchday 9, ending their record-breaking run of 37 away matches unbeaten . Furthermore, young players have scored 24 of the 289 goals so far this season, the highest number ever scored by youngsters at this stage of the Bundesliga . Patrik Schick became Bayer Leverkusen's all-time leading foreign goalscorer with 69 goals, equaling Dimitar Berbatov's record, while Harry Kane scored his 75th league goal in his 73rd appearance, surpassing Bayern legend Gerd Muller's record.
