Senegal's Lions hunt down Burkina Faso horses to qualify to Sunday's AFCON final
Senegal qualified for the final of the African Nations Cup for the second time in a row, after its victory over Burkina Faso 3-1 in the semi-finals of the tournament currently being held in Cameroon. The Teranga Lions of Senegal produced a brilliant second half performance to beat Burkina Faso 3-1 to qualify into Sunday's TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021 final. Defender Abdou Diallo started the party for the 2019 losing finalists when he calmly slotted in from close range on 71 minutes. The PSG defender kept his cool inside the Burkinabe box after Koulibaly's volley fell on his path before guiding his shot past substitute keeper Soufiane Ouedraogo. The floodgates opened some 20 minutes into the second half. Abdou Diallo scored from close range after Kalidou Koulibaly reached a corner with an amazing bicycle-kick pass. Six minutes later a majestic Sadio Mané handed a goal to Bamba Dieng. Burkina Faso rattled Senegal when Blati Touré knocked a cross into the back of the net. But Senegal soon reimposed themselves as their star player, the mighty Liverpool winger Mané, surged to meet a penetrating pass, went one-on-one with the keeper and coolly lobbed it into the back of the net.
