Al-Nasr achieves its best start in its history

Al-Nassr recorded their best start in the history of their participation in the Saudi Professional League, after turning a deficit against Al-Fayha into a thrilling 2-1 victory on Saturday evening. Al-Riyadh newspaper reported that Al-Nassr achieved their seventh consecutive win in the season opener for the first time in their history, surpassing their previous record of six consecutive wins. The first time this feat was achieved was in the 2014-2015 season under the leadership of Spaniard Raúl Caneda, when the team began their campaign with victories over Najran (4-1), Al-Raed (2-1), Al-Khaleej (1-0), Al-Fateh (4-1), Al-Shoalah (2-1), and Al-Orouba (2-1), before the streak ended in the seventh round with a loss to Al-Ahli (1-2). The second instance came in the 2018-2019 season under Uruguayan coach Daniel Carreño, when Al-Nassr achieved consecutive victories against Al-Ahli (2-1), Al-Faisaly (2-1), Al-Qadisiyah (3-0), Al-Taawoun (1-0), Al-Hazm (5-1), and Al-Batin (2-0), before drawing with Al-Fayha (1-1) in the seventh round. This season, Al-Nassr has continued its impressive run, securing seven consecutive wins from the first round to the seventh, defeating Al-Taawoun (5-0), Al-Kholoud (2-0), Al-Riyadh (5-1), Al-Ittihad (2-0), Al-Fateh (5-1), Al-Hazm (2-0), and finally Al-Fayha (2-1). With this seventh consecutive victory, Al-Nassr solidified its lead in the league standings with a perfect record of 21 points, three points ahead of second-placed Al-Taawoun and four points ahead of third-placed Al-Hilal.
