Marquinhos' position on leaving Paris

Brazilian defender Marquinhos has insisted he's not thinking too much about the distant future of his career, focusing on the present after returning from injury and indicating his desire to avoid what he described as a "superseason" with Paris Saint-Germain . Marquinhos returned to action after a month out following an injury sustained during the team's trip to Marseille in September, contributing to PSG's 3-0 win over Brest last Saturday. The team captain is now approaching 500 appearances for the club, a milestone no other player has achieved . Although his contract runs until June 2028, speculation continues to circulate about a potential move to Saudi Arabia in 2026, especially after the prospect of him participating in Brazil's last World Cup. However, L'Equipe reported that Marquinhos "has not set a date" for his departure from the club, stressing that he is focused on continuing to compete and avoiding a decline in his form . At 31, Marquinhos continues to play a leadership role in the dressing room, having been re-elected as captain for the fifth consecutive time . Last season, Marquinhos played 48 matches in all competitions, leading the team's defense as Paris Saint-Germain won the French league and the Champions League.
