Mafia invades stadiums... Italian club under surveillance!

Italian authorities have placed Serie B club Juve Stabia under judicial supervision after investigations revealed the possible involvement of the Camorra criminal gang in the club's economic activities. The club is based in Castellammare di Stabia, near Naples, a traditional Camorra stronghold. The team currently sits seventh in Serie B. The Naples prosecutor's office, the police, and the National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor issued a joint statement confirming that the investigations "revealed a mafia-like system of influence over the club's economic activities" by the Camorra D'Alessandro clan. The club, however, issued a statement confirming that the investigations concern external suppliers and not its shareholders or current management, indicating its willingness to fully cooperate with the authorities and sever ties with any party suspected of links to the gang. Brera Holdings, a Nasdaq-listed company headquartered in Ireland, acquired a 52% stake in the club last June. According to prosecutors, individuals linked to the D'Alessandro family previously controlled several aspects of the club's operations, including ticket sales, hospitality, cleaning, healthcare, and even first-team travel. Under the new court ruling, Juve Stabia will continue its sporting activities under the supervision of judicial administrators appointed by the court to ensure transparency and prevent any external interference in the club's management.
