Bayern extends Kompany's contract until 2029
Bayern Munich announced on Tuesday that it has extended the contract of Belgian coach Vincent Kompany until June 30, 2029, following the great success he has achieved since joining the team. The coach's current contract was scheduled to expire in the summer of 2027. Kompany, 39, joined Bayern Munich from English club Burnley ahead of the 2024/25 season, and led the team to the German league title in his first season. He also won the German Super Cup at the start of the current season . Kompany said in his statements: "I feel grateful and honored and would like to thank FC Bayern Munich for the trust and working environment they have provided me from day one. I feel like I've been here longer and know the club well. It has been a great experience so far, and we have started a special journey. Let's keep working hard and celebrate many successes." For his part, Herbert Hainer, president of the Bavarian club, stressed that the contract extension reflects the great confidence in Kompany after his outstanding performance, and is a clear sign of continuity and stability at the club. He added, "Kompany is highly regarded by the players, the club management, and the fans, and we are delighted with this early extension of our cooperation ."
