Messi breaks a new world record

Argentine star Lionel Messi, who plays for American club Inter Miami, continues to make history and break records, becoming the player with the most assists in international football history, surpassing Brazilian Neymar da Silva and American Landon Donovan. Messi led his country to a resounding 6-0 victory over Puerto Rico in a friendly match held early Wednesday at Chase Stadium in Florida, the home of his current club, Inter Miami, as part of the Argentine national team's preparations for upcoming matches. This match is part of Argentina's preparations for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The Argentine national team also awaits a highly anticipated match against Spain next March in the Finalissima tournament, which brings together the Copa America and Euro 2024 champions. Reports indicate that Doha will host this football summit. Despite his absence from the scoring charts, Messi played a pivotal role in the victory, assisting two of the six goals, bringing his tally to 60 international assists, making him the all-time leading assist maker for a national team, surpassing Neymar and Donovan (58 assists each).
