Scandal rocks Borussia Dortmund!

German club Borussia Dortmund confirmed that it had received a report alleging sexual assault against a player more than 20 years ago by a former employee, but noted that the allegations have not yet been proven. The club explained in an official statement that the accusations relate to an incident dating back to 2010, when a former employee allegedly harassed a young player who was of legal age at the time. The statement added that the employee in question denied all charges against him, and that the player did not file any official complaint against him. Dortmund indicated that it treated the case very seriously upon learning of it, conducting a comprehensive internal review. The case was also highlighted after further complaints were received against the same employee in 2023 through the club's sexual violence protection program. The statement confirmed that the club's management decided to terminate the former employee's services immediately after these allegations emerged, despite the alleged incident dating back many years and relating to his private life. Dortmund concluded its statement by emphasizing that the accused continues to deny the allegations and that the club has not paid any financial compensation. The club emphasized its full commitment to the principles of transparency and the fight against any form of violence or harassment within its system.
