Modric celebrates his 900th El Clasico appearance

Croatian star Luka Modric is preparing to make his first appearance in the Italian Clasico for AC Milan when the team meets Juventus on Sunday evening, in the top match of the sixth round of the Italian League. The anticipated confrontation holds a special significance for the veteran Croatian star, as it is expected to be his 900th match with clubs, having previously played 899 matches, during which he scored 97 goals, in a distinguished career spanning more than two decades. Modric joined Milan during the last summer transfer window, on a free transfer, following the end of his legendary career with Real Madrid. Real Madrid is the club Modric has represented the most, with him playing 597 matches, scoring 43 goals and providing 95 assists, followed by Tottenham Hotspur in England with 160 matches, during which he scored 17 goals and provided 24 assists. His early career began with Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb, where he played 118 matches, scoring 32 goals and providing 21 assists. He also had a brief spell with Inter Zaprešić, where he played 18 matches and scored four goals. Since joining the Rossoneri, Modrić has made six appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist, continuing to add to his impressive tally despite reaching the age of forty. During his club career, Modrić has won 34 titles, including 28 with Real Madrid, most notably the Champions League, and six with Dinamo Zagreb, reflecting the extent of his achievements on European soil.
