Osimhen strengthens his position as the most expensive player in the Turkish League

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, the star of Galatasaray, has consolidated his position as the most expensive player in the Turkish Super League, according to the latest market value update issued by the global website "Transfermarkt." His market value increased by €5 million to €75 million, following his historic transfer from Napoli during the last summer transfer window. Osimhen led his team to a historic 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the match held at Rams Park Stadium in Turkey, in the second round of the Champions League. Osimhen's deal was not only the most expensive in Galatasaray's history, but also a record in the Turkish transfer market, as the club paid €75 million for the player despite only having one year left on his contract with Napoli. The report explained that this value "reflects the policy followed by Turkish clubs, who do not hesitate to pay huge sums even for players with short contracts." It noted that his transfer from one of the top five leagues to the Turkish league reduced the possibility of his value increasing in the future, limiting it to a maximum of €75 million. Despite this challenge, Osimhen remains far ahead of his closest competitors in the Turkish league, with Colombian Fenerbahce striker Jon Duran in second place with a value of €35 million, while Besiktas player Orkun Kucu and Galatasaray defender Wilfried Singu are third with a value of €28 million each. With this achievement, Osimhen cements his position as one of the most prominent strikers in Europe, confirming that his move to the Turkish league has not diminished his market value, but rather increased his presence as a major face of Turkish football.
