Aubameyang chases Drogba's historic achievement

Onze Mondial reports that Gabonese star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has written a new chapter in Olympique de Marseille's history with his impressive performance in the resounding victory over Ajax in the Champions League, achieving a remarkable individual achievement that brings him closer to the record held by Ivorian legend Didier Drogba.  Ultimately, at the Stade Velodrome, Marseille performed as a team, winning 4-0 against the Dutch team in the second group stage, with the duo of Pablo Eyre and Aubameyang shining remarkably, as the French team restored its continental prestige. According to French media, Aubameyang, at 36 years and 3 months old, has become Marseille's oldest goal scorer in European competition, surpassing the previous record held by Jean Tigana, who scored in continental competitions in 1990 at the age of 35 years and 4 months. It also proved that Aubameyang is now the second-oldest African player to score in the Champions League, behind Ivorian Didier Vaughn, who held the record after scoring at the age of 36 years and eight months. This puts the Gabonese player one step closer to matching the achievement of one of the world's top African players.
