Mourinho seeks to solve the problem against Chelsea

English club Chelsea hosts Portuguese club Benfica at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening in the second round of the Champions League. This match marks a new milestone for Jose Mourinho, the current manager of the Portuguese team, in his matches with his former club Chelsea. Mourinho has a distinguished career with the Blues, having won three English Premier League titles in two managerial stints, in addition to three English League Cup titles and the FA Cup in 2007. Despite his long association with Chelsea, Mourinho has won only four of his 14 matches against the London team in all competitions with the various clubs he has managed, drawing three and losing seven. The Portuguese coach has failed to win in his last seven meetings, with his last victory over the Blues coming in February 2018 with Manchester United, 2-1 in the English Premier League . Mourinho's first victory at Stamford Bridge with Inter Milan came in March 2010, but since then he has failed to win any of his six away games there (drawing two and losing four) . Recent history suggests Benfica's struggles against English clubs are difficult, as they are winless in their last eight matches against English teams (drawing three and losing five). Their last victory came ten years ago, a 3-1 victory over Tottenham in the Europa League. The Portuguese side have also failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 18 matches against Premier League teams .
