Manchester United's position on Amorim's dismissal

Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim still enjoys the support of Manchester United's management despite the recent defeat to Brentford in the sixth round of the English Premier League . Press sources, including the Manchester Evening News, indicated that the club has no plans to appoint a replacement for Amorim, and that he maintains the confidence of the decision-makers at Old Trafford, despite the team's poor results this season . Amorim had hoped for a second consecutive victory in the Premier League, but since taking over last season, he has collected only 34 points out of a possible 99. After the Brentford match, Amorim stressed the need to focus and improve control of the match: "We are working on everything, and the frustration lies in the fact that every goal we prepare for during the week happens again. We can control the ball better and work on improving our character in matches." Manchester United is preparing to host Sunderland at Old Trafford before the start of the international break in October .
