De Jong surpasses Koeman's record with Barcelona

Dutch star Frenkie de Jong has reached a significant milestone in his career with Barcelona, becoming the second-most capped Dutch player in the Catalan club's history . Following his participation in the team's final match against Real Sociedad, De Jong reached 265 official matches, surpassing Ronald Koeman's record of 264, and is now second only to Phillip Cocu (292) . De Jong joined Barcelona from Ajax in 2019 and quickly became a key player and leader within the squad, demonstrating consistency and leadership under several coaches . With this achievement, De Jong surpassed the most prominent Dutch players in Barcelona's history, such as Patrick Cullivert (257 matches) and Michael Reiziger (255 matches). At 28 years old and still a regular player, De Jong has the opportunity to surpass Cocu's record and possibly become the most capped Dutch player for the club.
