Armed robbery at Portugal coach's home

The home of Roberto Martinez, the coach of the Portuguese national team, was burglarized in the Cascais district, west of Lisbon, with thieves stealing luxury jewelry and watches worth an estimated £700,000. According to reports, the robbery occurred on Saturday afternoon, while Martinez and his wife, Beth Thompson, were away from home for approximately four hours. The thieves are believed to have entered the luxurious villa through a side window. The Portuguese Public Security Police are investigating the incident, while a forensic team has examined the crime scene for any physical evidence that might lead to the perpetrators. Authorities believe the perpetrators had been monitoring the house in advance and were aware of the couple's absence, giving them ample time to search the premises thoroughly and seize the valuables. Martinez recently led Portugal to the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League title and is a prominent figure in European coaching.
