Neymar's comment against the Ballon d'Or results

Brazilian star Neymar refused to let the 2025 Ballon d'Or ceremony go unchallenged, finding the voting results particularly ludicrous. Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé won the award, beating out a host of other world stars, most notably Egypt's Mohamed Salah and Spain's Lamine Yamal. However, what most upset Neymar was his compatriot Rafinha, the Barcelona player, finishing fifth, despite his impressive performances for Barcelona this season (34 goals and 25 assists in 57 matches). Neymar responded with a brief, sarcastic comment on his X account, saying: "Rafinha fifth? That's a joke!" Neymar's comment came in response to an angry post by Brazilian content creator Eduardo Sempliano, who strongly attacked the final rankings, saying: "Rafinha third? Salah fourth? And Dembélé wins? Fuck them!" The discussion erupted into a wave of anger and widespread debate on social media platforms, with thousands of followers participating, some for and some against.
