Bayern player offers himself to Real Madrid

Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano has asked his agent to initiate contact with Real Madrid to offer his services to the Spanish club, in preparation for a possible move to Los Blancos in the summer of 2026, when his contract with the Bavarian club expires. So far, Bayern Munich has failed to renew the 26-year-old's contract, amid indications that he is keen to try a new experience outside the German league. According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Real Madrid has been interested in Upamecano since his time at Leipzig before his move to Bayern Munich in 2021, and it appears this interest may be resurfacing, despite the club having other priorities in the upcoming summer transfer window. The newspaper indicated that Upamecano's name is on the table of Real Madrid's management and is being studied as part of the list of future defensive options. In addition to Upamecano, Real Madrid is also monitoring French defender Ibrahima Konate, a current Liverpool player. Konate recently rejected several contract renewal offers from the Reds, preferring to wait until next summer to consider his options, including joining Xabi Alonso's team.
