Mbappé reaches his 50th goal with Real Madrid

French star Kylian Mbappé led Real Madrid to a hard-fought 2-1 victory over visiting Marseille at the Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday evening, in the first round of the 2025-26 Champions League group stage. Mbappé scored both goals from the penalty spot, giving his team its first three points at the start of its continental campaign. With his two goals against Marseille, Mbappé took his tally to 50 goals for Real Madrid, in addition to six assists, in 64 matches he played since joining the team in the summer of 2024, on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. Mbappé scored his first goal for Real Madrid on August 14, in the UEFA Super Cup match against Atalanta, which Los Blancos won 2-0. In the Champions League, the French star has nine goals and one assist to his name for Real Madrid in 15 matches in the continental competition.
