Barcelona prepares a plan to sign Haaland
Spanish club Barcelona is still betting on the possibility of signing Norwegian star Erling Haaland, the Manchester City striker, to bolster its attack with a player similar to the Norwegian, who continues to perform brilliantly with his current team. Haaland's contract with Manchester City runs until June 30, 2034, nearly nine years later, after the club recently extended his contract for a long period, given the player's brilliance and the team's fear of losing him to other strong offers. Barcelona previously came close to signing Haaland while he was at Borussia Dortmund before his move to Manchester City in the summer of 2022, with the player expressing his willingness to sign the deal. However, negotiations reportedly stalled. Spanish network El Nacional revealed that Barcelona president Joan Laporta remains obsessed with the idea of signing Haaland and has not given up hope of one day signing him, even if it is not during the next summer transfer window. On the sporting front, Haaland (25 years old) has participated in four matches with Manchester City in the English Premier League this 2025/2026 season, during which he scored five goals, without creating any goals for his teammates so far.
