Modric responds to Real Madrid in his own way

Croatian veteran Luka Modric continued to prove that age isn't measured by numbers, leading his country to a resounding 4-0 victory over Montenegro in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Croatia secured a resounding 4-0 victory in the fourth round of European qualifiers, maintaining their lead in their group with a perfect 12 points after four matches. Spanish newspaper Sport praised Modric's performance, stating that he stole the show during the match, which coincided with his 40th birthday. The Croatian star provided an assist and made a difference in midfield, displaying glimpses of his finest footballing career. Following the match, Modric posted a brief comment on his official Twitter account, saying: "Age is just a number," a message interpreted by the Spanish press as a reference to his former club Real Madrid, who did not renew his contract last summer. After more than a decade at the Santiago Bernabéu, Modrić joined AC Milan, where he continues to write a new chapter in his impressive career, proving that he remains one of the best midfielders in the world.
