Saint-Germain accuses the French national team of destroying its players

French newspaper Onze Mondial revealed escalating tensions between Paris Saint-Germain and the French Football Federation (FFF) over the way injured players on the national team are treated, particularly winger Ousmane Dembélé. The newspaper reported that the Parisian club sent an official letter to the FFF, expressing its "deep concern and dissatisfaction" with the national team's medical staff's handling of injury cases, particularly what happened to Dembélé during his international participation. This move comes after it was confirmed that Dembélé would be out for six weeks due to a right thigh muscle injury he sustained while playing for the French national team against Ukraine in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, despite prior warnings from Saint-Germain about his physical condition. The French newspaper described the incident as a "strong shock" to the PSG management, who feel that their medical warnings were not taken seriously by the French national team's technical staff. The two-page letter, signed by club general secretary Gregory Doran, included references to previous similar incidents, including the injuries to Bradley Barcola in June 2025 and Warren Zaire-Emery in September 2024, stating that the club did not receive sufficient or updated medical information about their conditions on each occasion.
