Liverpool's negative streak against Arsenal

Liverpool are gearing up for a fiery clash against Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday evening, in the top match of the third round of the English Premier League. This match is full of excitement and suspense between the most prominent contenders for the title this season. This confrontation comes after an exciting start to the new season for both sides, as Liverpool has shown weakness in maintaining its lead after leading 2-0 in the first two rounds so far. In the first round, Federico Chiesa turned the tables off Bournemouth, while Rio Ngomoha became the fourth youngest player to score in English Premier League history to secure a stunning victory over Newcastle in the second round. In terms of head-to-head records, Liverpool are winless in their last six Premier League matches against Arsenal, drawing four and losing two. This is their longest winless run against Arsenal since eight matches between October 2007 and April 2011. Meanwhile, the London club have not won at Anfield in their last 12 matches, dating back to a 2-0 victory in September 2012, when Mikel Arteta was in charge . Recent meetings between the two teams at Anfield have featured frequent draws. Liverpool's last four home matches have all ended in draws, including last May's clash, when the Gunners came from 2-0 down to equalize after Liverpool had already clinched the Premier League title .
