Flick wins new award with Barcelona

FC Barcelona's German coach, Hansi Flick, was named "Coach of the Year" at the annual awards ceremony organized by the renowned German sports newspaper Bild, one of the most widely circulated newspapers in Germany and Europe. The ceremony was held on Monday evening at the historic Altona Arena in Hamburg, attended by more than 600 sports and media figures from around the world. Flick participated in the ceremony virtually from Barcelona, joining the event via a live broadcast from the Barcelona Studios facilities. He delivered a moving speech in which he expressed his great joy at this recognition and its importance to his coaching career. Flick said: "As a head coach, you are always at the forefront; you are criticized when results go wrong and praised when things go well. That's the nature of the job. I am very confident in what I do, but true success is only achieved with a distinguished team around you. Fortunately, I have a great coaching staff here at Barcelona. Working with these people is a pleasure and gives me extra motivation to perform." Flick emphasized that his relationship with the players is the most important factor in his success at Barcelona, noting that constant communication with them is key to achieving success. He added: "What motivates me to continue is seeing the players every day and working closely with them. Communicating with them gives me a lot of positive energy, and for me, this is the most important factor in my coaching career." Flick's award is a culmination of his great efforts with Barcelona, where he led the team to achieve outstanding results in 2025, while introducing an organized attacking style of play that restored the team's distinct football identity, earning him the praise of fans and media in Spain and Germany alike. This award is a significant milestone in Flick's coaching career, as he seeks to lead Barcelona towards more domestic and European titles, amid expectations that the team under his leadership will be a strong competitor for all competitions in the coming seasons.
