Lopez decides his future with Barcelona

Spanish newspaper Sport revealed that Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez has decided to stay with the Catalan club next season, despite receiving lucrative offers, most notably from Manchester United. The newspaper confirmed that the 22-year-old player is convinced he has the opportunity to gain sufficient playing time, despite the intense competition for his place in the first team. Reports indicated that Manchester United was ready to make an offer of €70 million to sign Lopez, an amount that would have helped Barcelona improve its financial situation and return to the "1 for 1" rule for player registrations. However, Lopez, who was promoted to the first team in 2023, stressed that his first desire is to continue at Barcelona and will only leave if the club decides not to rely on him in the future. Since joining the first team, Lopez has made 88 appearances, scoring 19 goals and providing 11 assists, confirming his status as one of the most prominent young talents in the Blaugrana squad.
