Ajax signs two Moroccan brothers

Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam confirmed the continued careers of Moroccan brothers Abdullah and Zakaria Ouazzane within the club, after they signed two new contracts as part of the ambitious project for the under-23 team. The prestigious club announced the extension of the contract of the rising talent Abdullah Ouazzane (16 years old) until the summer of 2028, thus securing his future early and blocking the ambitions of several European clubs that were anticipating the opportunity to sign him, especially after he previously came close to a move to Real Madrid, before the deal faltered at the last minute despite passing the medical examinations. At the same time, his older brother Zakaria Ouazzane (18 years old) signed a two-year contract, a move that strengthens his continuity within the Dutch club, with the clear goal of soon being promoted to the first team. For his part, Ajax sporting director Maren Boker expressed his confidence in the potential of the Moroccan duo, stressing that the club sees a promising future in them. "Abdullah is an attacking midfielder with a strong ability to create chances. He has excellent field vision and is adept at connecting play with his precise passing and intelligent dribbling. We believe he will also shine with the U23 team soon," said Booker. Regarding Zakaria, he added: "He is a strong striker with a strong goal-scoring instinct. He knows how to position himself inside the penalty area and capitalize on half-chances, making him an important element in the attacking line. We see him as an added technical value to the team." The signing of the two new contracts comes as Ajax seeks to retain its rising talents amid fierce competition from continental clubs, especially after Abdullah's deal to Real Madrid was close to being completed, before it was halted for reasons not officially disclosed. Observers believe that the stability of the Wazan brothers at Ajax may pave the way for their joint rise to the first team in the next few years, especially in light of the club's belief in their technical abilities and its keenness to provide them with an ideal development environment.
