Bayern signs Diaz until 2029

German club Bayern Munich announced on Wednesday the signing of Colombian winger Luis Diaz from English club Liverpool during the current summer transfer window. The German club's statement read: "FC Bayern Munich has signed Colombian international Luis Diaz from English Premier League champions Liverpool. The striker has signed a contract until June 30, 2029, and will wear the number 14 for the German champions." Diaz, 28, began his professional football career at Barranquilla FC, a second-division club in his native Colombia, where he made his first-team debut in 2016. After two seasons with Atlético Junior in the first division, with whom he won two league titles, as well as a Colombian Cup and Super Cup, he moved to Porto in the summer of 2019, making 125 appearances for the Portuguese club, scoring 41 goals. There, he continued to win titles, winning two league titles, two cups, and the Portuguese Super Cup. Liverpool signed him in January 2022. He made 148 official appearances for the Reds (41 goals, 23 assists), winning the Premier League, the FA Cup, the Community Shield, and the League Cup twice. Diaz has played for the Colombian national team since 2018. He has scored 19 goals in 64 international appearances to date, and was the top scorer at the 2020 Copa America. Luis Diaz said: "I am very happy. It means a lot to me to be part of Bayern Munich - it's one of the biggest clubs in the world. I want to help my new team with my style of play and my personality. My goal is to win all possible titles, and that's what we will work towards every day as a team."
