Guardiola: I will retire from coaching temporarily!

Spanish coach Pep Guardiola went through a difficult time last season, as it was his most difficult year since he began coaching, between multiple injuries and negative results. At the same time, the Spanish coach faced complicated situations in his personal life, but he seems determined to move on. He said in an interview with British magazine "GQ Hype" that he will temporarily step away from coaching after the end of his time with City, despite recently renewing his contract. Guardiola said: "I know that after this period with City, I will stop coaching. That's for sure. I have decided that because I want to stop and focus on myself and my body." He added: "I think I know when I will stop. The same thing happened to me during my time with Barcelona, and at that point I told myself that enough is enough and I will look for a new challenge." Guardiola responded to the criticism directed at him, saying: "Are people waiting for me to fail? Yes, of course, and I am happy to welcome them. It gives me energy. When you win the English Premier League six times and then there comes a time when you decline, that is human nature." He explained: "Then after that, you need to bring in a lot of players, but it is easy to say that in hindsight." Although he believes last season wasn't that bad, Guardiola stressed that he had never gone 13 or 14 games without a win, admitting that he found it difficult to manage his team last year. "I have 23 players and I choose 11 players every three days," Guardiola said. "It seems that the other 11 players don't suit me, and it's the opposite. I like them and that's why I suffer for them. But these 11 players say, 'Why don't you include me and another player?' You have to say, 'It's okay, you train well, okay.' Then that player says to himself, 'Okay, I'll play,' and it doesn't happen. How can we not disagree after that? It's impossible."
