Premier League clubs dominate the summer transfer window

English Premier League clubs continue to dominate the summer transfer market, dominating the top spots on the list of top spenders in preparation for the 2025-26 season, with seven English clubs among the top ten spenders. This dominance reflects the significant purchasing power of Premier League clubs, which clearly outperforms those of other major European leagues, both during the summer and winter transfer periods. Liverpool topped the list of top spenders this summer, having spent €308.68 million in the transfer market. The Reds signed German Florian Wirtz, Dutchman Jeremie Frimpong, Polish Milos Kirkes, and Frenchman Hugo Ekitike as they seek to retain their Premier League title. Chelsea came in second place with a spending of €243.77 million, after signing several prominent names, most notably Brazilian Joao Pedro (Brighton), Estevao (Palmeiras), Jimmy Gittins (Dortmund), William Delap (Ipswich Town), and Dario Esaogu (Sporting Lisbon). Arsenal came in third with €223.56 million, most notably the deal for Swedish Victor Gjokeres from Sporting Lisbon, in addition to the signings of Madueke, Zubimendi, Mosquera, goalkeeper Kepa, and Christian Nergaard. Real Madrid came in fourth place with a spending of €167.5 million, through the signing of Dean Huijsen, Alvaro Cáceres, Franco Mastrantuono, and Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool. Manchester United fifth: €153.2 million (Marcos Cunha, Bryan Mombasa) Atletico Madrid sixth: €153 million Manchester City seventh: €145.7 million Tottenham eighth: €140.6 million Juventus ninth: €118.5 million Sunderland tenth: €115.9 million
