Al-Nassr snatches Chelsea star from Benfica

Media reports have confirmed that Saudi club Al-Nassr has completed a major deal during the current summer transfer window, after it came close to signing Portuguese star Joao Felix. Renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that the club's management has entered into advanced negotiations with English club Chelsea, with the aim of signing Felix permanently. This deal could thwart the plans of Portuguese club Benfica, which was hoping to bring back its former player. Romano added that Al-Nassr has submitted an official offer to Chelsea, in parallel with its personal offer to the player, indicating that an agreement between all parties is imminent, as the final details are expected to be finalized within the next 24 to 48 hours. For its part, the Portuguese newspaper Record confirmed that Al-Nassr has already succeeded in reaching an agreement with Felix, after the latter expressed a clear desire to embark on a new experience in the Saudi Professional League and join the constellation of stars within the Al-Nassr ranks. The newspaper explained that Felix is preparing to join Al-Nassr's training camp, currently being held in Austria, and is expected to officially join in the coming hours. The newspaper emphasized that Al-Nassr's offer had scuppered Benfica's negotiations with Chelsea, which were in their final stages, leading to the deal's collapse and the player's decision not to return to the Portuguese league.
