New setback in Arsenal's Gyökeres deal

The transfer of Swedish striker Victor Gyokeres, a player for the Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon, to Arsenal during the current summer transfer window of 2025 is threatened with collapse. Press reports had previously revealed that Arsenal had submitted an official offer to the Portuguese club for Gyokeres for 70 million euros. Gjokeres, 26, has a contract with Sporting Lisbon that extends until the summer of 2028, giving the Portuguese club a strong position in the negotiations. According to the Portuguese newspaper "Record", negotiations between Sporting Lisbon and Arsenal have reached an impasse due to disagreements regarding the terms of the additional bonuses in the deal. The newspaper explained that the Sporting management is demanding an easy and quick 10 million euros in incentives, while Arsenal stipulates that these bonuses be linked to specific and complex conditions. "Record" stated that the disagreement over the method of payment of payments and performance bonuses could lead to the complete collapse of the deal in the coming hours, despite the desire of all parties to complete the transfer.
