Mohamed Salah enters the 2025 Ballon d'Or race

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah continues to write his name among the legends of world football, having entered the list of top candidates for the 2025 Ballon d'Or, awarded annually by the French magazine France Football to the world's best player. According to the Sports Dunia network, Salah came in fourth place on the preliminary list of the ten best players, following an exceptional season with Liverpool, during which he contributed to leading the team to the English Premier League title and setting impressive individual records that confirm his status among the game's greats. Salah scored 34 goals and provided 23 assists in all competitions last season, bringing his total goal contributions to 57 goals in 52 matches, crowning him with the Golden Boot as the Premier League's top scorer for the fourth time, an achievement only surpassed by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry. Although Liverpool's early exit from the Champions League and the League Cup final may have dampened their chances of winning the award, their domestic and individual achievements have kept them in the running, even placing them ahead of the likes of Kylian Mbappé, Harry Kane, and Vinicius Jr. French winger Ousmane Dembélé topped the list, while Barcelona duo Lamine Yamal and Raphinha finished second and third, respectively. Salah, who has won several individual awards this season, including the PFA and FWA Player of the Year, continues to cement his reputation as one of the most successful Arab and African players in modern football history.
