Mbappe withdraws his complaint against Saint-Germain

In a surprising move with clear signs of calm, French star Kylian Mbappé, current Real Madrid striker, has decided to withdraw the lawsuit he had filed against his former club, Paris Saint-Germain. The lawsuit relates to accusations of psychological harassment and attempted blackmail to force him to renew his contract during his final season with the Parisian team. According to the French newspaper L'Equipe, Mbappé, through his legal team, officially withdrew the complaint on Monday, just days before the fiery match between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup in the United States. The complaint was filed with the French public prosecutor's office on May 16, which in turn opened an official investigation on June 24 and then referred the case to two specialized judges. Mbappé's decision to withdraw the complaint stems from his desire to "fully focus" on the continental showdown and calm the tense atmosphere that preceded the anticipated encounter, without giving up his claim for outstanding financial dues, estimated at approximately €55 million, including salaries and bonuses, which are still the subject of an ongoing labor lawsuit. Reports have spoken of a marked improvement in the relationship between Mbappé and club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, following months of tension and mutual escalation. Al-Khelaifi's recent statements, in which he expressed his sincere wishes for Mbappé's success with Real Madrid, reflected a positive shift in the relationship between the two parties. The upcoming confrontation between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in New Jersey adds to the excitement of this story, as Mbappé will meet his former club for the first time since his controversial departure. There is anticipation of whether he will meet Al-Khelaifi face-to-face on or off the field, in a scene that will carry significant sporting and personal dimensions. Mbappé, who has emerged as one of Real Madrid's most prominent stars this season, currently prefers to focus on achieving his first major title with the royal team, without being distracted by complex legal matters, which he has chosen to temporarily put on hold while the world's eyes are on the New Jersey stadium.
