Will Araujo leave Barcelona this summer?

Barcelona's Ronald Araujo is expected to be the biggest star of the summer transfer market in the coming days, with the possibility of his sale attracting interest from several European clubs. It is worth noting that Araujo's release clause, following his latest renewal in January, is worth €1 billion, a huge sum that most clubs would find difficult to afford. However, Marca revealed a special clause that reduces this clause to only €70 million between July 1 and 10. Meanwhile, Catalan newspaper Sport confirmed that the release clause could drop to €60 million between July 1 and 15, opening the door to several potential offers. Barcelona considered selling Araujo last January, receiving a €35 million offer from Juventus, and Bayern Munich also expressed interest in the player. However, signing a new contract until 2031 came as a result of the player registration crisis, redrawing Araujo's future with the club. However, Araujo is no longer a first-choice option for coach Hansi Flick, especially after returning from a long-term injury, with Pau Coparsi and Iñigo Martínez excelling in defense. Barcelona faces the need to sell Araujo to facilitate summer signings, most notably the signing of Neco Williams and the signing of new goalkeeper João Garcia.
