Ahead of the new season, Napoli shocks Osimhen

Italian club Napoli is facing a complicated situation regarding the future of its Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, in light of the faltering negotiations regarding his departure and the failure to reach a final agreement with foreign offers, most notably the Saudi offer from Al-Hilal . According to the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport", Napoli is forced to officially summon Osimhen to participate in the preparatory camp for the new 2025-2026 season, scheduled to start between July 14 and 15. This is in light of the continued uncertainty regarding his next destination and the failure to reach a final agreement with any club so far . Osimhen recently returned to Napoli after the end of his short loan period with Turkish club Galatasaray, while controversy continues regarding his future after he rejected a hefty offer from Saudi club Al-Hilal, worth approximately 30 million euros in annual salary, according to what was revealed by the "Football Italia" website earlier this month . While Al Hilal has not withdrawn from the race to sign the 26-year-old, reports indicate that failure to reach an agreement before mid-July will force Napoli to officially summon him to join the team's preparations for the new season, which will include medical tests and participation in training . According to the announced schedule, the Napoli players' medical tests will take place between July 14 and 15, with the team starting its training camp in Dimaro, in the Trentino Alto Adige region, from July 17 to 27. The players will then be given a short two-day break before resuming training in Castel di Sangro, in the Abruzzo region, from July 30 to August 14. Napoli will send an official email to Osimhen in the next few days informing him of the necessity of joining the team and participating in the preparation program. Sources indicate that the player will undergo medical tests alongside his teammates, but his participation in group training has not yet been decided, as he is likely to train separately if talk of his departure continues .
