Liverpool player ends his football career

Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana announced his retirement from football on Wednesday at the age of 37, after a career spanning over 18 years. Lallana released a statement on his social media accounts, saying: "As I retire from playing, I feel incredibly grateful and proud. Southampton is where it all began and where it rightfully ends. It's the club I owe it all to." Lallana began his professional career with Southampton before moving to Liverpool in 2014 in a £25 million deal. During his glittering time with the Reds, he won the Premier League and Champions League titles under German manager Jurgen Klopp. Lallana later moved to Brighton before returning to Southampton last season, where he finished his career. Internationally, Lallana has made 34 appearances for England and has featured at several major tournaments for the Three Lions.
