Arnold: We are disappointed after the draw with Al Hilal

England international Trent Alexander-Arnold spoke about his first competitive match with Real Madrid against Al Hilal in the first round of the group stage of the Club World Cup, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Following the match, Alexander-Arnold said: "My first match was amazing. Playing for Real Madrid is something everyone dreams of, although we are also disappointed not to win. Winning every game is fundamental to Real Madrid's mentality. There were a lot of positives, especially in the second half." The English player added: "In the second half, we had more possession of the ball, which we lacked in the first. We have to keep the ball for as long as possible to make the opposing team run. We played better in the second half, forcing them to defend more and getting into their box. Penalties happen in football and no one should be blamed. There are things we need to work on, and I'm sure we will perform better in the next match." He continued: "The support of the fans was amazing. I noticed this support from the moment I joined the club. Real Madrid fans are spread all over the world and feel this support in the hotel, in training and on social media. We want to thank them. We had great support in the stands, and it was wonderful." Regarding learning Spanish, Arnold explained: "I've been learning Spanish for two months. When I found out I was coming, I wanted to learn so I could adapt better. That was important for me. A new country, a new team, a new city. It's important to show your intention to adapt to the culture as best as possible. That's what I'm doing."
